WHAT WE ARE ABOUT
As the clocked ticked from 11:59PM on December 31, 2018 to 12:00AM on January 1, 2019 a brand new year was born. A growing sense of burden in the hearts of our Pastors, Michael and Amy Tadlock, would soon give way to a great calling only a few short months later. This Heavenly calling came, subtly at first, but grew louder and stronger with each passing minute as the Holy Spirit began to deal heavily with them about planting a Pentecostal Church in the small town of Ponce de Leon, Florida.
After much prayer, fasting, strategizing, analyzing, and every other painful word you can think of, the Tadlocks, including their 18 year old Son Hayden and 8 year old daughter Hannah, felt the peace and direction of the Lord to step in faith to build a Team to launch a new ministry. In April of 2019, as a step of faith and obedience, they entered into a lease with the local town council to use the “Old Gym” facilities on Sunday mornings and one week night. Pastor Michael and Sis. Amy felt impressed of the Lord that this step was crucial in order to secure a meeting place large enough to handle a growing congregation as God prospered the work. After meeting with five local families and sharing the burden and vision, Wednesday night devotions began in the living room of Pastor Michael and Sis. Amy in the summer of 2019. These five families jumped in with both feet and full hearts, feeling the same burden to launch this new work.
Soon, devotions grew into actual services with Youth services being held in the closed in back porch, and Kidsblast being held in the family Dining Room. Within just a couple of months, the home grew too small, and a soft launch was planned for August of 2019. The local School District gave permission to utilize the PDL Elementary school’s multi-purpose room and cafeteria on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. This huge step, now allowed the Launch Team to begin to invite family and friends to come be a part of the vision of launching this new church, now named Crosspoint Church of Ponce de Leon. For the four months that followed, the newly formed Team and growing Congregation met for services, fellowships, outreach opportunities in the community, and not to mention beginning work on the Old Gym facilities in preparation for a “hard launch” date.
As 2019 came to a close, the date had been set to move to the Old Gym to begin services. After many many gallons of paint, bleach, and mop water, on Sunday January 6, 2020, the CPC Team held their first service in the Old Gym and it was quite a large place for this small group of believers. Wednesday nights would now give way to a designated Student’s room for Outbreak Student Ministries as well as a Kid’s Room for The Way Kids! For the next 6 weeks, preparations would be made for the Hard Launch date. As the days passed, the congregation continued to grow in unity and in number, as the ministry's need became more obvious. Pastor’s daily prayer was “Lord, send Worshippers, Workers, Prayer Warriors, and Soul Winners”, and that is exactly what He did. On February 24, 2020, Crosspoint Church of Ponce de Leon was officially launched with a powerful worship service that included a timely dedication message by Pastor Mike White of Milligan Assembly of God, (also Sis. Amy’s Father) who grew up in Ponce de Leon, and graduated from Ponce de Leon High School.
From the Launch date to the present, it goes without saying that there have been many obvious challenges. However, the Lord has proven Himself faithful, and continued to bless and keep CPC through a world-wide plague, economic down turns, and the most challenging time to face the Bride of Christ in decades, if not centuries. In the weeks after the launch, CPC rose to the occasion with weekly food distributions, prayer nights for the community/nation, Live Stream services, Drive Up Church, and much more. The Lord continued to add to the church as souls were saved and filled with the Holy Spirit.
In April of 2021, God blessed the ministry of CPC to be able to purchase 10 acres of property on Highway 90 in Ponce de Leon, that very soon will be the Home to this growing ministry. From the Living Room of 2019, to the Old Gym here and now, God has continued to add people to Crosspoint that share the same heart and passion to reach the lost souls of the local communities. Crosspoint Church is committed to be a place of miracles, void of any dead religious experience, and constantly overflowing in the manifest genuine presence of the Holy Spirit in each and every service. Pointing souls to the cross of Christ, Preparing hearts to be true disciples, and Permeating our community and beyond with the life changing Gospel of Jesus Christ will forever be our mission.
